KATHUA, June 26: Two youth committed suicide in Kathua and Hiranagar areas of Kathua district last night.
According to Kathua police a dead body of a 32 year old youth was found hanging by his family members with a tree outside their residence in Ward Number 18 Kathua this morning. They rushed the body to District Hospital Kathua for treatment where the doctors declared it as brought dead. He has been identified as Surinder Kumar, son of Karnail Singh of Ward 8, Kathua. The body was tested for COVID by doctors and later handed over to family for cremation. Kathua police has registered a case under Section 174 IPC in this regard and started investigation.
In another incident a 37 year youth committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling rod at his residence at Murlichak in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district last night. His family saw the body in the morning and shifted it to Hospital where the doctors declared it as brought dead. He has been identified as Ranjit Singh, son of Sansar Singh of Murlichak, Hiranagar. The body was tested by doctors for COVID-19 and it has not been handed over to family as the report of the test was awaited. Hiranagar police has registered a case under Section 174 and started investigation in this regard.
