Srinagar, Nov 19: Two car lifters were today arrested by police in Shopian and two stolen cars were seized from them, a police spokesman said.
He said a police party laid a naka in Heerpora, Shopian and intercepted two suspicious cars driven by Haroon Rashid son of Abdul Rashid and Irfan Ahmad son of Zakir Chowdary of Rajouri.
“During preliminary investigation, it surfaced that the duo had stolen these cars from Pulwama and Kathua districts. Both the car lifters were arrested and the cars have been seized,” he said, adding police has registered a case in this regard and further investigation has been started.
He said more recoveries are being expected.
