MENDHAR, Dec 22: Two boys got electrocuted with high tension wire in Mendhar area of Poonch district today.
Reports said Umar, son of Mohd Latief (18) and Mohd Shakeel, son of Mohd Shareef (26), both residents of Gohlad Mendhar, suffered severe burn injuries on their feet and right hand after they came in contact with a high tension wire at their roof top.
The boys were rushed to Sub-District Hospital, Mendhar where after providing first-aid they were referred to the Govt Medical College, Rajouri. The Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mendhar, Dr Parvez Khan has confirmed that both of them have been severely injured. They have been referred to Rajouri GMC but Umar’s condition is serious.
Meanwhile, people have expressed their anger against PDD. They said that the 33 KV high tension wire was passing over the house. Many times the department was informed about it but they ignored it, they added.
