2 bovine smugglers arrested, 14 animals rescued

SAMBA, May 6: District police Samba today foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 14 animals with the arrest of two bovine smugglers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba.
Acting on an information received through reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Samba during vehicle checking at Naka Nud, Samba intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. JK13B-8537 for checking.
During checking, 14 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission which were being transported in a cruel manner.
The driver of the vehicle namely Amar Dev, son of Sanjeev Dev of Lambring, Assam along with his associate Showket Ali, son of Abdul Ghani of Mralyan, Miran Sahib, Jammu have been arrested and the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 108/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Samba.
