KATHUA, Aug 13: Two bootleggers were arrested during Excise raids at various places under the supervision of S L Sharma, Excise and Taxation Officer.
The raids were conducted at villages Chak Drab Khan, Jakhbar Dambra, Kangrial, Shatyal, Budhi, Dabhwal and Muthi Khurd and two bootleggers were arrested from whose possession four bottles of illicit liquor were recovered. The raids were conducted under the supervision of S L Sharma ETO Jammu-Kathua, Excise Range, Razi Ahmed Inspector Excise I/C Sub-Range Kathua along with Excise Staff of the Range.
The accused have been identified as Som Raj S/o Roop Lal of village Chack Drab Khan and Neelam of the same village.
A case under Section 48 (a) of the J&K Excise Act SVT, 1958 has been registered in this connection at Excise Sub- Range Kathua.
Besides this, 300 kg raw-material used for manufacturing of illicit liquor, 5 bottles of illicit liquor and two working stills were also recovered which were destroyed on spot.
