KATRA, July 12: In drive against the illicit liquor, Police today arrested two bootleggers and smashed a vend, where illicit liquor was being prepared.
On the intervening night of July 11-12, Katra Police, during patrolling at Railway Chowk Katra, recovered 45 liquor bottles from the possession of Raj Kumar son of Munshi Ram of village Padoh, tehsil Katra. In this connection, a case FIR number 143/2018 U/S 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Katra.
Meanwhile, one Baldev Singh (6), son of Kartar Singh of village-Tanda, Dera Baba, was apprehended along with Still (apparatus) and other utensils while manufacturing illicit liquor at his home.
About two ltrs illicit liquor and five ltrs lahan was also recovered from his possession. Case FIR number 128/2018 under section 48(b), (e) Excise Act has been registered in this connection.
