JAMMU, July 11: RS Pura police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 3.500 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from RS Pura Police Station led by HC Mohammad Sabar laid a naka near village Mottey and intercepted two persons, who were trying to escape on seeing police cops.
During checking, police recovered 3.500 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of two persons and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ajit Kumar alias Jeeti, son of Nanak Chand and Tarsem Kumar, son of Manohar Lal, both residents of village Mottey, Tehsil RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 85/18 under Sections 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at RS Pura Police Station and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SHO RS Pura Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SDPO RS Pura Sourabh Prashar, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
