SAMBA, Aug 16: Ghagwal police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 13 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Ghagwal Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number HR47B-4755, which was on its way from Jammu towards Kathua.
During checking, police team recovered 13 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Harvinder Singh, son of Davinder Singh of Ajit Singh Nagar, Moga, Punjab and Jaspreet Singh, son of Darshan Singh of Koni Giderwaha, Muksar, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 87/2020 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
