JAMMU, June 5: Two persons have been arrested for killing a lady.
As per police sources, on May 31 this year, a lady identified as Santosh Devi (27), wife of Vicky Kumar of Samoti Samah Tehsil Akhnoor was found lying in pool of blood in her house.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the body to SDH Akhnoor, where after conducting autopsy by the board of doctors, the body was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
To work out the case, inquest proceedings under Section 175 CrPC was initiated.
During the course of investigation, it came to light that Bittu Ram, son of Bodh Raj and Nimo Devi, wife of Des Raj murdered Santosh Devi with a sickle (Darat) over some family issue.
Working over the leads, a police team led by SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma and assisted by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Sanjeev Gupta and ASI Ashok Kumar conducted raids in several areas and finally nabbed the murderers.
A case under FIR Number 121/19 under Section 302 RPC has been registered against the accused persons at Akhnoor Police Station and further investigation is going on.
