Srinagar, Apr 11: Cracking down on illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, the police in Baramulla today seized two vehicles and arrested two drivers.
Authorities reported that a police party, under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri and assisted by SHO Kreeri, confiscated two vehicles (tractors) and apprehended two drivers.
The arrested drivers have been identified as Nisar Ahmad Allie, son of Bashir Ahmad, and Imtiyaz Ahmad Itoo, also known as Faisal, son of Gh Hassan, both residents of Waripora Payeen.
According to the police, those arrested were involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Kreeri.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Kreeri, and further investigation is underway.
