RAJOURI/POONCH, Sept 23: The police arrested two wanted criminals from Nowshera and Mendhar area today.
Official sources said that police party from Nowshera arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest in a case of kidnapping and rape registered in 2015. The accused has been identified as Mohd Azam, son of Mohd Shafi, a resident of Rajal Thathi village in Nowshera. A case FIR No. 30/2015 under sections 363/376/109 RPC had been registered against him at Police Station Nowshera.
A police team headed by SHO Nowshera Pankaj Sharma arrested the absconder and produced before the court.
Meanwhile, Mendhar police nabbed a wanted accused evading his arrest for the last 16 years. He has been identified as Mohd Sageer, son of Yar Mohammad, resident of Gohlad village of Mendhar. He was booked in a case FIR No. 73/2005 under sections 454, 380 RPC at Police Station, Mendhar. A arrest warrant from a local court was also issued against him.
