JAMMU, May 16: Police apprehended two absconders, who were evading their arrest since long.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Satwari police station conducted raid and arrested an absconder, who was at large for the past seven years.
The accused has been identified as Gagandeep Singh alias Babban, son of Amarjeet Singh, a resident of Nanak Nagar.
He was wanted in two cases registered under FIR Numbers 166/2007 under Section 307, 325 and 323RPC and106/2009 under Section 307, 341, 326, 201 and 34RPC and 2/25 Arms Act. Arrest warrant under Section 512 CrPC also stands issued against him by Court.
Meanwhile, a team from Gadigarh police post also arrested an absconder lady, who was evading her arrest for the past 28 years.
The accused lady has been identified as Pholli, daughter of Partap Singh of Ward Number 2, Bhour Camp. She was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 116/1989. Arrest warrant under Section 512 CrPC also stands issued against her by Forest Court.
Further investigation into the cases registered against the accused is going on.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh and assisted by Incharge Gadigarh police post SI Jaswinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
