2.9 lakh LPG connections under PMUY

JAMMU, May 9: As many as 2.9 lakh LPG connections have been provided so far to the women in Jammu and Kashmir under Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojana (PMUY).
This was stated by District Nodal Officer for Jammu and Poonch Sainyum Misri and District Nodal Officer for Udhampur and Samba Sunil Digra today.
The free LPG connections were being distributed by the administration under the guidance of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
The Nodal Officers informed that since inception of the scheme, 11,126 new connections have been released in district Poonch, 17,776 in district Jammu, 7854 in Samba and 12,273 in Udhampur.
Under this scheme, majority of SC/ST women living in remote areas have been benefitted and more awareness camp will continue across the State to ensure that 100 per cent beneficiaries are covered under the PMUY.
