NOWSHERA, Mar 26: The police seized 16 bovine animals being smuggled in three vehicles and arrested nine persons in this connection early today.
A police spokesman said that police naka party from Nowshera intercepted three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AD/1672, JK02AD/ 0393 and JK02AL/1149 at Thalka village near Nowshera during early hours. A total 16 bovine animals were being smuggled in the vehicle. The police seized all the three vehicles along with animals and arrested the occupants including drivers.
Those arrested were identified as Irshad Ahmed of Behrote in Thannamandi, Farooq Ahmed of Khablan in Thanamandi, Mohd Parvez from Kanwan in Kalakote, Ghulam Nabi from Rajal, Mohd Hanief from Lamberi, Zaffar Iqbal from Kalakote, Moss Bilal from Kalakote, Abdul Rashid from Tok Thannamandi and Nazir Hussain from Thannamandi. The police has registered a case against them.
