SRINAGAR:
As many as 171 Head Constables (HC) of Jammu and Kashmir police were promoted as Assstant Sub Inspectors (ASI), a police spokesman said here, this afternoon.
He also said that the approval for promotion was granted by the departmental promotional committee which met under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone S J M Gillani.
The committee has approved promotion of 171 Head Constables to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspectors. Besides it has granted in-situ promotion in respect of 16 officials as well.
The IGP has felicitated newly promoted officers and their families and impressed upon them to work with more dedication and devotion. (AGENCIES)
