JAMMU, Aug 24: As a part of anti-encroachment drive, 1704 Kanal land, which was in illegal occupation of some people, was retrieved successfully by the administration.
Acting upon the directions issued by district administration, a team of revenue officers under the supervision of Gopal Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Akhnoor, took out an anti-encroachment drive in Sub-Division Akhnoor.
During the drive, the team comprising Mahesh Chander, Tehsildar Akhnoor, Sanjeevan Sharma, Naib Tehsildar Akhnoor and concerned Patwaries retrieved about 1704 Kanal of State, Kacharai and Forest land in Sub Division Akhnoor in last couple of days.
At village Pangari, encroachment from Forest land was removed from Khasra No 675 measuring 948 Kanal while 636 Kanal of State land bearing Khasra No 595 situated at village Rajachak and 120 Kanal of Kahcharai land bearing Khasra No 76 situated at village Mawa Karora were also retrieved.
Besides retrieval of land, the sign boards mentioning the title of the land were also fixed on the retrieved land. The field staff was issued strict directions to keep strict vigil to check any kind of attempt to encroach the land.
