JAMMU, Aug 2: At least 17 people were injured when a bus and an Alto car collided with each other and then rolled down into a gorge near TCP Nagrota in Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
According to a police spokesperson, the mishap occurred at about 6 am when a bus bearing registration number JK02BJ-7187 which was on its way from Jammu to Doda hit one Alto car bearing registration number JK02X-2453 coming from opposite side. On collision of both the vehicles their drivers lost control over them and they (vehicles) rolled down into a deep gorge along the road.
In the mishap, 17 persons were injured. On getting information of the accident, a police team led by SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma along with SHO Daleep Singh under the supervision of Incharge SSP Jammu, Rajiv Pandey, reached the spot and shifted all the injured to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where condition of all the injured is stable.
The injured have been identified as Arun Anand (25), Madhu Anand (54), Ramesh Anand (60) and Pawan Anand (24), all residents of Jagti, Muzamit (8), Madan Lal (38), Rafiqa Begum (50), Mohd Abbas (40) and Ghulam Rasool (55), all belonging to Doda, Mithiba (11), Manvi , Rashida Begum (50) and Harish Kotwal (44), all residents of Bhaderwah, Kanta Devi (40) of Tikri, Jaswant Sharma (26) of Paloura, Shahzada (13) of Sidhra and Kewal of Reasi.
A case FIR No 158/15 u/s 279/337 has been registered in this regard at police station Nagrota and investigation started.
