17 CAPFs martyred families facilitated under aegis of Bharat Ke Veer

NEW DELHI:Under aegis of ‘Bharat Ke Veer’, 17 martyred families of Central Armed Police Forces were facilitated at BSF Headquarters on Saturday. BSF Director General Rajni Kant Mishra along with Jamna Auto Industries Ltd Vice Chairman Randeep Singh Jauhar presented a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakh to each of the martyred members which will be routed through the ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ portal.

Ten from BSF, four from CRPF, two from Assam Rifles and one from SSB have been facilitated on this occasion?, BSF spokesperson Shubhendu Bhardwaj said.
Speaking to the occasion, BSF DG Rajni Kant Mishra said that all were indebted and duty bound for well being of the family members of the martyrs who have given the supreme sacrifice serving the motherland.

He also appreciated the commendable initiative of Jamna Auto Industries Ltd. and said that this would help to spread the word extensively to make people and organization aware of the ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ portal.

The ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ portal was launched on April 9,2017 by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh. The portal uploads the details of the martyrs of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) who sacrificed their life in line of duty. The aim of this portal is to facilitate contribution to the martyr’s families online, by any citizen of India.

So far, 205 Martyrs of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) have been listed on ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ since launch and an amount of Rs 45.32 crore have been received by the corpus and the families.

The monetary contributions to this portal can be made through online net banking, credit, debit cards or through cheque or draft in favour of ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ and these donations are exempted under section 80(G) of Income Tax.

On this occasion, the nodal officer for ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ initiative, BSF IG Amit Lodha highlighted the great initiative taken by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for making it possible for every citizen of India to express their heartfelt gratitude to the defenders of integrity and sovereignty of the nation.

‘Bharat Ke Veer’ is an interface provided by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to the citizens of India to directly contribute to the families of the martyrs. The Home Minister has made sincere efforts to ensure that each family of martyr (of CAPFs) gets financial assistance of at least one crore rupees. (agencies)
