RAJOURI, Aug 25: Police seized 17 bovine animals in Thannamandi area and arrested one person in this connection last night.
Officials sources said that police party led by SHO, NS Chib intercepted five bovine animals at Behrote, being carried by one Abdul Masjit, resident of Hasplot village at around 2 am. He was moving towards Mughal Road on foot with animals. The police rescued animals and arrested the accused.
During yet another naka at Sora bridge near Thanamandi during early hours today, the police seized 13 milch animals. The two persons accompanying them managed to escape. The police registered a case FIR No. 129/2015 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act against the accused persons and started investigation.
Meanwhile, police also seized illicit liquor from a Karyana shop owner at Mangota village and arrested him. He has been identified as Mohd Kabir. A case FIR No. 128/15 was lodged against him.
