‘1620 establishments in J&K, Ladakh eligible for PF payment by GoI’

JAMMU, May 21: Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has said that 1620 establishments in J&K and Ladakh are eligible for the payment of Provident Fund contribution by the Government of India (GoI) for the month March to August this year.
In a handout Regions PF Commissioner, Prasant K stated that 527 establishments have already availed this benefit and another 359 establishments are in the pipeline of process for availing the benefit.
“About 642 establishments are yet to respond to the emails and telephonic calls from EPFO to facilitate them to avail the benefits,” the Commissioner stated.
He further mentioned that the EPFO desires that no employee is deprived of the benefit of Provident Fund for the inaction of the employers.
The Commissioner has asked the employers who are eligible for payment of Provident Fund contribution by Government to contact EPFO Regional Office Jammu by calling at 0191-2473230, 0191-2479941 or on email address ro.jammu@epfindia.gov.in for any clarification in this regard.
He also requested the employees of all EPF covered establishments to take immediate steps to activate Universal Account Numbers (UAN) of all employees and seed the same with their aadhar number and Bank Accounts.
“This will help the employees to avail non-refundable advances from their PF accounts online to fight covid-10 pandemic,” the handout further stated.
