UDHAMPUR, Oct 29: Continuing its drive against drug menace, Udhampur Police today recovered 16 kg of poppy straw from an Indica car and arrested two persons in this connection.
Based on reliable information, a police party led by Inspector Sanjeev Gupta SHO P/S Udhampur laid a naka on NHW for checking of vehicles. During search, police party intercepted one Tata India car, bearing registration number JK02F- 2807 and during the search of said vehicle, 16 kgs poppy straw was recovered.
Police arrested driver of the vehicle and his associate, who were identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Dayal Singh of R S Pura and Riaz Bhatti son of Mohd Bhola of Jeevan Nagar Satwari.
