JAMMU, Sept 18: The Forest Department teams during two separate operations in Reasi area retrieved 16 kanals of forest land today.
Official sources said that Forest team led Range Officers Ved Parkash and Sameer Ahmed dismantled a structure and removed encroachment on 6 kanals of forest land in Compartment No. 19 of Thakrakote. This land had been grabbed by Mohd Iqbal and Munir Hussain and they were trying to fence some more area.
In yet another operation, another forest team led by Forester Kulwant Singh, Talwara cleared nearly 10 kanals of Forest land at Morha Akkha, in Sherpur area. One Nazir, son of Ismail had grabbed this piece of land. DFO Reasi Dr Jitender Kumar Singh was supervising the operation in close coordination with CF, West Circle Sameer Bharti.
