16 bovine animals rescued

SAMBA, Apr 12: Acting on reliable information received at Police Station, Ghagwal that bovine animals are being smuggled towards Srinagar, a police team of P/S Ghagwal headed by Inspector, Rajeev Kumar, SHO P/S Ghagwal under the supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP Hqrs, Samba during vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal, signaled a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AR-3144 which, was coming from Kathua side to stop. During checking of the vehicle, 16 bovines were found laden inside it which were being transported illegally.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place by police. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 34/2019 U/S 295-A/188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
It may be recalled that the vigorous drive against the bovine smugglers has been launched by district police Samba on the directives of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba.
