JAMMU, May 5: Police in Jammu District claimed today they have foiled 152 bovine smuggling bids this year upto April 30, 2024.
“152 cases of bovine smuggling were registered in different police stations of Jammu District with effect from January 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024,” a police official said.
He said 133 people were arrested during these operations and 1354 animals were freed from the clutches of the bovine smugglers.
Those indulging in bovine smuggling are being booked under PSA as well with their vehicles being blacklisted, added the police official.
