15 PoK residents arrives; no Kashmiri cross to other side

SRINAGAR: Fifteen Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) residents arrived here today while not a single person from Kashmir crossed over to the other side of the Line of Control (LoC).
Meanwhile, 31 people returned to their respective sides at the Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector, official sources said. They said 15 PoK guests, including four women and two children, arrived here after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot at Kaman post.
They said 19 Kashmiris, who had crossed over to other side of the LoC to meet their relatives, separated in 1947, also returned to their homes in the Karvan-e-Aman bus operating between Srinagar and POK since April 7, 2005 despite opposition by militants.
The returnees included eight women and three children, they said. However, no Kashmiri crossed to other side in the bus, they said adding 12 PoK residents who had come here in previous buses returned to their homes after completing stay here. They included four women. (AGENCIES)
