15-day training program for Police IOs begins

Srinagar, Oct 12: Police in Kulgam under the aegis of SSP Kulgam Dr G.V Sundeep Chakravarthy has commenced a 15-day Training Programme for Investigating Officers of District Police.
The training programme has been organized by SSP Kulgam for sensitizing the IOs with the Special Investigation procedures embarked on varied offences including offences punishable in special laws viz. RAPE, POCSO, NDPS, UAPA, Explosive Substances Act, Juvenile Justice Act, Inquest Proceedings, Cyber Crimes etc. and preparation of different forms of Memos etc. which is being imparted by senior officers of District Police Kulgam.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Kulgam urged that such kind of sensation and orientation programs will be continued in the district in future also to cope up with the latest developments of the law within the nation and for effective investigating mechanism.
He also stressed that police must be sensitive in dealing with offences against women & children and due regard and respect should be given to their dignity while undertaking such investigations to ensure the confidence of the public in the system.
He emphasized the importance of the investigations in the Criminal Justice Delivery System wherein the Police has the major role to play.
He stressed that the Police being the first respondent to a crime ought to be highly skilled in ensuring effective investigations which only can afford a firm basis for bringing the criminals to book and will prevent the acquittals based on technicalities paving a long way in ensuring a crime-free society.
