REASI, Nov 20: The Legal Metrology Department has detected 14 traders for selling low quality consumer goods at inflated prices thereby cheating gullible consumers at Shiv Khori.
In most cases, traders and shopkeepers have been found selling goods, including gifts, Parsad, clothes, eatables, etc below the net weight as printed on the product.
District Administration under the guidance of District Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has constituted a working group to formulate rules to curb hoarding and profiteering.
Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology, Kuldeep Raj informed that during checking on November 19 at Shiv Khori and base camp Ransoo, a fine of Rs 18,800 was imposed on traders found violating the rules and domestic LPG cylinders from sweet shops and dhabas were also seized.
