14 bovine animals rescued

SAMBA, Jan 20: Ghagwal police rescued 14 bovine animals and also seized the truck in which they were being carried during a naka on Jammu –Pathankot National Highway at Tapyal today.
According to police during the naka checking on National Highway at Tapyal a police party of Police Station Ghagwal signalled a truck to stop bearing registration number JK02AH-6881 which, was coming from Kathua side. The driver on seeing the police party accelerated the speed of the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot.
But on being chased by the police, the driver abandoned the vehicle at NH Jatwal and escaped from the spot. During checking of the vehicle, 14 bovines were found laden inside it, which were being transported illegally.  The vehicle and the bovine animals were seized on spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 16/2018 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
The police party led by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ghagwal foiled the bovine smuggling bid under the close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy SP Hqrs Samba and under overall supervision of Anil Magotra, SSP Samba.
