Restoration of Bahu Fort
Sir,
The Bahu Fort in the centre of Jammu City is a pride possession of Jammu people. It is not mere a building made of brick and mortar but a symbol of our culture and civilization. This is one of the surviving heritage buildings of the city. Though Mubarak Mandi complex is now being renovated and resurrected, Bahu Fort has now received not the attention it deserved. Unfortunately, it has become casualty of many departments who after its  boundry collapse are now indulging in blame game. In other words, one can safely say that it nobody’s baby.
It is requested to the Government to rope in all bodies like ASI, INTACH etc. to restore its original glory. The Government should take a cue from Rajasthan Government with regard to upkeep of heritage buildings.
Bahu Fort could turn out to be a good tourist attraction if it is restored to its original position.
