13 July episode

Sir,
This has reference to the article “DE July 13. The article puts the events of 1930-31 leading to the firing on 13 July 1931 in the corrective perspective. It is also  timely because there is a section who consider 13 July as a black day. It will educate most readers who hardly know what the day is all about and why a holiday is observed. All said and done the day marks a watershed in Kashmir history leading to end of autocracy, birth of communal politics in the State and the subsequent events including the  exodus of Pandits from the Valley.
Yours etc….
