13 hurt in tempo-truck collision

RAJOURI, Apr 25: At least 13 persons were injured, three of them seriously, when a Tempo traveler  met head on collision with a heavy duty truck (Tralla) near Sunderbani today.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place at around 10.30 am when speeding Tempo traveler bearing registration No. JK02BC-0311 was on way to Jammu from Rajouri.  A Tralla No. PB10BX / 8331 was moving towards Rajouri from Jammu side. Both the vehicles collided near Police Station  at Sunderbani. All the 13 persons on board Tempo traveler were injured. The Trala driver jumped away and escaped from the spot.
Immediately after the mishap the policemen from nearby Station and locals rushed to the scene of accident. The driver- Raghubir Singh alias Lovely, had been trapped in the seat and was critically injured.  He was pushed out with tough efforts. The injured were removed to Sunderbani hospital where doctors referred ten of them to GMC Hospital Jammu. Three were undergoing treatment in Sunderbani hospital.
The injured were identified as driver Raghubir Singh (23), son of Mohinder Singh of Thandapani in Sunderbani, Durga Dass ( 60), son of Jagat Ram, his wife Santosh Kumari (53), residents of Janipur Jammu, Vijay Kumar (57), son of Ram Dass of Pathankote, Prem Nath, son of Thoru Ram,  Geeta Devi,wife of Prem Nath of Vijay Nagar, Jammu, Tamia & Nitish Kumari, daughters of Prem Nath, Harkit Kumar (2), son of  Prem Nath, Aditya Kumari, daughter of Tarsem Lal, resident of  Vijaypur and Shubam Kumar (19) son of Tilak Ram of Janipur Jammu.
Critically injured Tempo driver after providing treatment in GMC Jammu has been airlifted to Amritsar hospital. Sunderbani police has registered a case in this connection.
