13 held in Doda for HM posters

JAMMU, Nov 4: Police have detained 13 suspected for pasting posters of Hizbul Mujahideen organization at Dhandal and Gurmal areas of Kastigarh in Doda district warning people not to contest the Panchayat elections.
SSP Doda Shabir Ahmad Malik said police immediately swung into action after getting report of Hizbul Mujahideen posters surfacing at Gurmal and Dhandal and started investigations after registering a case FIR No. 196/2018 under Sections 13/20/38/39 Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and 171 C/F RPC at Doda police station.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Anshul Garg also visited the spot and inter-acted with the local people. He assured them that they will be provided full protection for contesting elections and they need not to take care of posters, which might have been pasted by some undesirable elements.
The SSP Doda said they have so far detained 13 suspects in connection with the pasting of posters for questioning and searches were on to trace more people.
Malik said to restore the confidence of the general public in the area, Doda police has also launched regular patrolling in Dhandal and Kastigarh areas and assured the people to remain steadfast and participate in democratic process of elections without fear as miscreants will be traced soon and taken to task as per law.
“The people are upbeat about the elections A sizeable number of 232 nominations have been filed in Kashtigarh block for 88 seats of Panchs and Sarpanchs,” he said.
