JAMMU, Dec 26: Shourya Chakra awardee (after death) Martyr Rajneesh Sharma’s 12th Shaheedi Divas was today observed at his native village Sarwa of Ramgarh area of district Samba.
The programme was organized by his family members wherein they paid floral tributes to Shaheed Rajneesh Sharma and also distributed stationery items among the Government school students.
Rajneesh Sharma was born on August 4, 1976 at village Sarwa in the house of Romesh Chander and Sudesh Sharma. After doing 10+2, Rajneesh Sharma joined army on April 21, 1994. During operation Prakram at Mendhar (Balnoi) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajneesh Sharma sacrificed his life in an encounter with militants on December 26, 2002.
On this occasion, the family members of Shaheed Rajneesh Sharma alleged that the 5-kilometer long road from Bandral to Gho-Brahmana on the name of Shaheed Rajneesh, known as “Shaurya Chakra Rajneesh Marg” is in worst condition but nobody took care of that. They appealed the district administration to immediately start repair work on the road.
