12th in line, Natrang’s theatre fest from today

JAMMU, May 27: Theatre group ‘Natrang’ is going to celebrate 12th Theatre Festival of the year from Tuesday, May 28 at Natrang Studio Theatre, here to commemorate the celebrations of 36 years of Natrang.
In a press conference today Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur elaborated that Natrang is organizing a four day theatre festival every month and the 12th festival in this regard is starting from May 28 featuring four theatre productions.
With the completion of this festival Natrang will set an all-time record in the country of staging 48 different plays by the same group in 13 months.
The festival will open with the play ‘Ek Raat’ based on the story of Rabindra Nath Tagore and adapted by Pratap Sehgal on May 28 while on May 29 Hindi play ‘Postmaster’ will be staged and on the third day of the Fest, Aatamjeet’s play ‘Andhe Kaane’ will be showcased while on May 31 Hindi play ‘Rehearsal’ will be featured.
Balwant Thakur further informed that Natrang was established on 15th May, 1983 with the presentation of two unique short plays ‘Neeli Jheel’ and ‘Nanhein Kandhey Nanhein Pair’ at Abhinav Theatre Jammu.
Senior Natrang functionaries-Neeraj Kant and Anil Tickoo also accompanied Balwant Thakur in the press conference.
