12 tourists hurt as Tempo Traveler collides with hill

UDHAMPUR, Jan 25: At least a dozen tourists were injured when a Tempo Traveler met with an accident at Samroli near Chenani on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway late last evening.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place when the Tempo Traveler, bearing registration No. JK14P/ 1807 was on way to Katra from Patnitop. After some mechanical snag, the vehicle went out of control and collided with the road side hill.
Twelve tourists on board the vehicle, were injured. All the injured were later shifted to SDH Chenani and some of them were removed to District Hospital, Udhampur by Chenani Police.
The injured persons were identified as Ravi Kumar (38), son of Chet Ram; Vidya Ram (58), son of Naresh Ram; Bhikh Ram (38), son of Jagdish Ram; Vikas Goyal (22), son of Parmodh Goyal; Varinder Ram (35), son of Ram Mehar, Amit Kumar (30), son of Prem Singh; Gagan (24), son of Ashok Kumar; Sumit Jha (23), son of Surinder Jha; Goutam (25), son of Binder; Raghuraj (42), son of Sardar Singh, Roop Kishore (58), son of Prabh Dyal- all residents of Delhi and Mayank Garg (24), son of Mukesh Garg, resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh (UP).
The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
