12 top IPS officers shifted, 5 after promotions

JAMMU, Feb 8: The Government today ordered transfer and postings of 12 IPS officers. Of them, five were promoted today including three from DIGs to IGPs and two from SSPs to DIGs.
S K Mishra, Director General of Police, Prisons, J&K, has been transferred and posted as Chairman-cum-Managing Director, J&K Police Housing Corporation.
Dilbag Singh, Commandant General, Home Guards/ CD/ SDRF, J&K, was transferred and posted as Director General of Police, Prisons, J&K, vice S K Mishra.
Muneer Ahmad Khan, ADGP, holding the charge of the post of IGP Kashmir, was  transferred and posted as ADGP Home Guards and Security, against an available vacancy.
Danesh Rana, Managing Director, J&K Police Housing Corporation, has been transferred and posted as IGP Armed, Jammu, vice Shafkat Ali Watali.
Jagjit Kumar, IGP, Traffic, J&K, was transferred and posted as IGP Tech, relieving Ashkoor Ahmad Wani, IGP CIV, PHQ of the additional charge of the post.
Shafkat Ali Watali, IGP Armed, Jammu, has been transferred and posted as IGP Armed, Kashmir, vice Ahfadul Mujtaba, who shall report to PHQ, till February 25.
Ahfadul Mujtaba, IGP  Armed, Kashmir, was transferred and posted as IGP Crime, J&K. He shall, however, assume the charge of the post upon retirement on superannuation of Alok Puri, on February 28, 2018.
S P Pani, upon his promotion as IGP, was posted as IGP Kashmir, relieving Muneer Ahmad Khan of the charge of the post.
Basant Kumar Rath, upon his promotion as IGP, has been posted as IGP Traffic, J&K, vice Jagjit Kumar.
Vidhi Kumar Birdi, DIG, NKR, Baramulla, has been transferred and posted as DIG, CKR, Srinagar. He shall, however, assume the charge of the post upon retirement of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, on February 28, 2018.
Amit Kumar, SSP CID (SB) Jammu, was transferred and posted as Incharge DIG, SKR, Anantnag, in his own pay and grade, upon promotion of the present incumbent.
Sunil Gupta, SSP CID (CI) Kashmir, was transferred and posted as Incharge DIG, NKR, Baramulla, in his own pay and grade, vice Vidhi Kumar Birdi, who shall report to IGP Kashmir, till February 28.
The Cabinet approved the promotion of IPS officer of 2004 batch Deepak Kumar Salathia to the Super Time Scale – (i) DIG with effect from 01.01.2018. The sanction was also given to the placement of officers of 2005 batch of J&K Cadre namely Rafeequl Hassan and Vijay Kumar in the Selection Grade with effect from 01.01.2018.
Similarly, sanction was accorded to the promotion of IPS officers of 2014 batch of J&K Cadre namely Amritpal Singh and Dr G V Sundeep Chakravarthy to the Senior Time Scale.
