JAMMU, July 23: There was no let up in spike in Corona positive cases in Jammu region with 128 persons including five barbers, three returnees from Muscat in Oman, 12 employees of a private company working for Railways, three officials of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Veterinary and Health Departments, two more staffers of a private paper factory, three youths of Panchairi, number of shopkeepers and security persons, testing positive for Coronavirus today while 18 persons were treated and discharged from various hospitals.

Entire Ramban tehsil and three Municipal Wards in Reasi were today declared as Containment Zones by the administration and lockdown like restrictions imposed there.
Forty seven persons including about 20 security personnel, number of them from CRPF and JKP, tested positive in Jammu district today.
Of 47, 38 were travelers and nine locals.
Other positives of Jammu district include 38-year-old man from Talab Tillo, a youth from Bardna, young girl from Jhajjar Kotli, youth from Akhnoor, 41-year-old man from Channi Himmat, 36-year-old from Domana, 35-year-old from RS Pura, 32-year-old youth from Purani Mandi, 30-year-old from Jagti Nagrota, an elderly man from Muthi, teen-ager from Paloura, youth from Jeevan Nagar, 33-year-old from Jaffar Chak, middle-aged man from Durga Nagar, 58-year-old from Akhnoor, youth from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, an elderly woman from Chatha, 55-year-old from Channi Himmat, youth from Purkhoo, 30-year-old and 37-year-old men from Channi Himmat, 36-year-old from Punjab and another middle aged man from Himachal Pradesh.
Nineteen persons, five of them shopkeepers from Batote including three barbers, today tested Corona positive in Ramban district.
Of five shopkeepers who tested positive for the virus during random sampling in Batote, three were barbers, one vegetable vendor and a chicken seller. The market was closed after the shopkeepers reported positive.
Twelve Corona positive cases were reported from Red Zone of Chamalwas in Banihal and all of them were staffers of a private company working for Railways, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Ramban Dr Mohammad Fareed Bhat said.
Twenty five employees of another private company had tested positive the other day after which the district administration had ordered suspension of work on railways and highway in Ramban district and ordered aggressive sampling of the employees.
A man tested positive during random sampling in Khari. A traveler from Jammu also tested positive in Ramban district.
District Magistrate Ramban Nazim Zai Khan has ordered lockdown like restrictions in Ramban tehsil till July 26. However, essential services have been exempted during lockdown which was enforced following spurt in number of Coronavirus cases.
Twenty one persons tested COVID positive in Rajouri district today including two officials of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and Veterinary Department.
SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli said three security personnel and a traveler were among the positives in the district.
Rest of positive cases belonged to Red Zones or were contacts of positive persons including five from Sunderbani, three in Lamberi, two each from Charan and Sounchal areas and one each from Jaglanoo, Suwari, Dhnor, Ward No. 2 and Fatehpur.
The JKB official hailed from Lamberi and Veterinary Department official from Sunderbani.
Twelve persons including three shopkeepers and one Health worker from Purmandal today tested positive for Coronavirus in Samba district.
The shopkeepers at Purmandal were subjected to testing during random sampling, SSP Samba Shakti Pathak said. A 30-year-old female Health worker working at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Purmandal also tested positive today.
Other positive cases in Samba district were two more employees of a paper factory of Bari Brahamna hailing from Data Talab and Arnia, 44-year-old from Ward No. 6 Vijaypur, two middle-aged men from Ward No. 3 Vijaypur, a youth from Bari Saha Talab Smailpur, who was running a Service Station, 41-year-old from Smailpur, 45-year-old from Chak Lala Bishnah having travel history of Haridwar and 32-year-old from Jammu.
A total three workers of the private paper factory have so far tested positive in Bari Brahamna.
Seven persons including three from village Panchari were reported positive for COVID-19 in Udhampur district today, District Magistrate Dr Piyush Singla said.
The positive cases from Panchari include three youth who returned from Pathankot district of Punjab and were under administrative quarantine.
Four other positives of Udhampur district include a 47-year-old man from Sangoor with travel history of Amritsar, 39-year-old from Battal Ballian, 60-year-old from Bharat Nagar and 45-year-old from Karan Nagar, all of whom were contacts of positive persons.
Eight persons including three Army and two CRPF personnel today tested COVID positive in Kathua district.
Three other positives from the district were a shopkeeper from Containment Zone of Nagri Parole and two returnees from outside including a student and one worker.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua OP Bhagat said 3100 more persons entered Jammu and Kashmir from Lakhanpur during last 24 hours.
Four persons including three returnees from Oman reported positive for the virus in Doda district.
Two persons aged 39 and 50 hailing from villages Parnote and Breswana in Doda district and 35-year-old from Mohalla Thathri, all of whom had returned from Muscat in Oman, reported positive for COVID-19 today. Fourth positive of the district was a 28-year-old youth from Bagla Bharath with travel history of Himachal Pradesh.
Two barbers had yesterday tested Corona positive in Bhaderwah. District officials said the barber shops have been closed in Doda district as some of them were not following due protocol.
Four persons—three of them hailing from Bihar and one from Uttar Pradesh—tested positive in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district where they had returned for work after staying for couple of months in their States. They were under administrative quarantine.
In Reasi district, four persons today reported positive for Coronavirus.
They include a 33-year-old man from Ward No. 2 Red Zone in Katra town. A police constable, who had returned to duty from Baramulla, a woman from Jammu and a man from Kathua, who had travel history of New Delhi and Leh respectively and were under administrative quarantine at Katra hotels, also tested positive for the virus.
District Magistrate Reasi Indu Kanwal Chib has declared Ward Nos. 5, 7 and 8 of Municipal Committee Reasi as Containment Zones in view of Corona cases reported from there.
Two persons including a student from Pandit Mohalla with travel history of Himachal Pradesh reported Corona positive in Kishtwar district. Another positive was a traveler.
With today’s positives, total number of Corona cases have reached 3351 in Jammu region. Active cases have gone up to 1440 while there have been 1891 recoveries and 20 deaths.
Eighteen patients were today discharged from various COVID hospitals in the region including eight in Jammu district, three each in Kathua, Ramban and Doda districts and one in Rajouri.
Four patients were today treated and discharged from Chest Diseases Hospital in Bakshi Nagar Jammu, Medical Superintendent Dr Rajeshwar Sharma said.
Meanwhile, four more positive cases were today reported from the Union Territory of Ladakh taking total number of cases to 1210 including 470 in Leh and 740 in Kargil and active cases to 183—159 in Leh and 24 in Kargil district.
As many as 1025 patients have been treated and discharged in Ladakh—310 in Leh and 715 in Kargil while there have been two Corona casualties.
Of total positives, 27 patients were admitted in COVID hospitals of Ladakh, 43 were in home isolation, four in COVID Care Centres and 108 in Facility Isolation.
