12 Kumaon Regiment organizes blood donation camp

JAMMU, Feb 13: 12 Kumaon Regiment of 162 Brigade organized a voluntary blood donation camp in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Region Jammu, Department of Blood Transfusion, Government Medical College and J&K State Aids Control Society, Jammu, at Miran Sahib.
Col MD Bal, Commanding Officer, 12 Kumaon Regiment inaugurated the blood donation camp and also donated blood. Besides, more than 37 Jawans in the presence of Sajay Hajra, Adjutant of the Brigade donated blood during the camp.
Highlighting the importance of blood donation, Col Bal said that it is a great service to the mankind and everyone should donate blood voluntarily as many times as possible to save the human lives. He appealed the Jawans to come forward and join this humanitarian cause by donating blood in future also.
The Red Cross team was headed by its secretary, RC Puri assisted by Sita Ram Sharma and Navneet Kour, Members, Executive Committee, IRCS, Region Jammu and Dr ML Sharma as well as Vardhman Jain.
The blood bank team was headed by Dr Sonia Gupta supported by other doctors and para medical staff.
RC Puri, also spoke on the occasion about the importance of blood donation and assured that every possible help from Red Cross will be provided for organizing blood donation camps in future also.
