12 bovines seized, 5 smugglers arrested

RAJOURI, Apr 28: The police claimed to have foiled a bovine smuggling bid by arresting five alleged smugglers and rescuing 12 bovines from their possession last night.
A police spokesman said that Nowshera police team led by SDPO Sargun Shukla,  during naka at Thalka near Nowshera last night intercepted Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration No JK11/ 6650 which was on its way from Nowshera to Rajouri.  Six bovine animals were loaded in the vehicle.
Police arrested two bovine smugglers namely Mohammad Sadiq, son of Mohammad Sarwar rersident of Gurdhan Pai and Mohammad Arif  son of Mohammad Abdullah resident of Darhal. Driver of the vehicle  namely Mohammad Irfan, son of Mumtaz Hussain resident of Gurdhan Bala was also nabbed after a hot chase by cops.  The vehicle was seized along with animals and a case FIR No 71/2015 U/S 188, 3 PCA RPC has been registered at Police Station, Nowshera.
In yet another operation, the police on a specific information seized six bovine animals last night from the possession of Mohammad Akram, son of Mohammad Munshi, Mohammad Hussain son of Ghulam Hussain and Ghulam Mohammad, son of Asrail all resident of Lam in Nowshera as they brought these six bovines  animals from Akhnoor to Gagrote Nowshera via Mala Parote road  without any permission. In this connection a case FIR No 70/2015 has been registered at Police Station Nowshera.
