KATHUA, Feb 14: The police seized 12 bovine animals being transported from Punjab to J&K near Kathua and arrested two persons in this connection.
Police said a naka party nearly Palli intercepted a truck No. JK02AD/0705 and found nine bovine animals loaded in it. The police arrested two smugglers and registered a case against them. They are identified as Mohd Sharief- driver resident of Sidhra Jammu and his associate Riaz Ahmed, resident of Channi Himmat.
A Mahindra load carrier No. JK02AV/8606 was intercepted near Jarai during naka today and three bovine animals were found being illegally transported. The driver of the vehicle jumped away and escaped. The police has registered a case in this connection.
