KATHUA, Sept 18: In continuation to thwart the conspiracies of bovine smugglers within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal – today foiled bovine smuggling attempt at Lakhanpur, rescued one dozen bovines and seized the vehicle involved in the commission of crime.
Police said today its team led by Inspector, Sumeet Sharma SHO Police Station (PS) Lakhanpur under the supervision of DySP DAR, Kathua, Sukhdev Singh during routine naka checking duty at Lakhanpur noticed one suspicious truck bearing Registration Number JK08B-3771 which was being driven by unknown person who was signalled to stop for checking. Sensing danger driver of the vehicle managed to fled away from the spot. During checking of vehicle one dozen bovines were found loaded in it illegally.
Thereafter Police team was able to rescue 12 bovines and seized the vehicle involved. By taking this cognizance a case FIR Number 98/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
