UDHAMPUR, May 15: Police rescued 12 bovine animals in two separate cases and arrested three persons, who were smuggling these bovines to Kashmir valley.
According to reports, based on specific information, a Police party from PP Tikri laid a surprise naka on National Highway near Tikri and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration No JK02AC-1037. During search of the said vehicle, five bovine animals were rescued. Police arrested one Jeevan Singh of Tikri on the spot and also seized the vehicle.
In another case, Police party from Kud intercepted a truck bearing registration No JK02 D-8702 near Kud and rescued seven bovine animals. Two bovine smugglers, identified as Safudin of Bishnah and Shakeel Ahamed of Chanderkot, were arrested.
