KATHUA, Jan 4: Rajbagh Police has rescued 12 bovine animals which were being carried from Punjab to Jammu late last night.
According to a handout issued by District Police Kathua, a team of Rajbagh Police led by SHO, Sarbjeet Singh Andotra laid down a naka at NHW near DPS Rajbagh Chowk and intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK02V-4337 carrying bovine animals which was on way from Punjab to Jammu.
During the checking of the vehicle, Police rescued 12 bovine animals being smuggled in it but the driver of the vehicle managed to escape. A case FIR No 01/2018 U/S 188 RPC ,3 PCA Act was registered at PS Rajbagh and investigation into the matter has been started to arrest the bovine smuggler.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Border, Raghubir Singh, Additional SP Kathua, Sanjay Parihar and overall supervision of Suleman Choudhary, SSP Kathua.
