Violation of COVID SOPs

KATHUA, Sept 29: Kathua, police has booked 12 persons who were indulged in manipulating the people coming from outside, entering into UT of J&K and extorting huge money by cheating them.
Giving details to media persons here, today SSP Kathua, Shailendra Mishra said 12 persons were booked at Police Station Lakhanpur by SHO Lakhanpur, Sanjeev Chib and in this regard four cases FIR No. 80/2020, 82/2020, 84/2020 and 85/2020 U/S 420/188/269/270/34/IPC stands registered at Police Station, Lakhanpur against them.
He said the cases were registered against Romal Singh, S/o Sansar Chand, R/o Karroh, tehsil and district Kathua, Vijay Kumar, S/o Rattan Chand, R/o Dhanor tehsil and district Kathua, Sagar Singh, S/o Tirlok Chand, R/o Dukhat tehsil and district Kathua, A/P SPO GRP Guard Railway Bridge Lakhanpur No 192/SPO, Dharam Paul, S/o Nagar Singh, R/o Nagrota Budhi, tehsil and district Kathua, Rajeev Kumar, S/o Kuldeep Kumar, R/o Sarna tehsil Pathankot, Pankaj Saini, S/o Darshan Kumar, R/o Taragarh tehsil and district Pathankot Punjab, Sahil Thakur, S/o Jodh Singh, R/o Sujanpur tehsil and district Pathankot, Sourav Kumar, S/o Bittu Kumar, R/o Thrial Madhopur tehsil and district Pathankot, Jatin Kumar S/o Kishan Chand, R/o Azizpur tehsil and district Pathankot (Punjab) in the Lakhanpur PS.
Moreover, one case FIR No. 86/2020 U/S 188/269/270/IPC at P/S Hiranagar and against Showkat Ahmed Wani, W/o Abdul Rehman Wani R/o Letar Tehsil and district Pulwama and Majdull Islam S/o Mohd Ramzan, R/o Heena Nagri tehsil Zenpura district, Shopian and one case under FIR No. 290/2020 U/S 188/269/270/IPC registered at PS Kathua against Sham Singh S/o Raghubir Singh R/o Bhagthali Kathua.
Finally SSP, Kathua appealed the people coming from outside to follow the SOP and not to get trapped in the clutches of these persons. If anyone have any information about these person who are involved in such kind of activities they should inform the police by dialling100. Their identity will be kept a secret, he added.
