Srinagar, Aug 30: The Election Department has deleted the names of the non-State subjects from the electoral rolls who were illegally registered as voters.
In reply to a question of MLC Ajatshatru Singh, Minister of State for Finance, Cooperative and Elections Manohar Lal Sharm today informed the Legislative Council that during the special summary revision of the electoral rolls seven non-permanent residents were registered as voters in booth number 65 of Sonawar constituency in Srinagar. And four non-permanent residents were registered as voters in District Shopian.
“The entries have been rectified and shifted to the non-permanent section,” the Government said.
