601 including 66 security men test +ve for COVID-19

Srinagar, July 23: Eleven COVID-19 positive patients died in Kashmir today taking the number of such deaths in Jammu and Kashmir to 288 while 601 people tested positive in the Valley taking the J&K total to 16429.

The dead include a 57-year-old man from Firdous Abad Batamallo Srinagar, a 55-year-old man from Nawakadal Srinagar, a 52-year-old woman from Zonimar Srinagar, a 46-year old woman from Gazriyal Kupwara, a 60-year old non local resident, a 70-year old woman from Uri Baramulla and a 40-year-old from Chinkral Mohalla, Habba Kadal in Srinagar.
The 57 year old man from Firdousabad Batmaloo was admitted on July 10 to SKIMS hospital in Soura and a man from Nawakadal was admitted on 13 July with underlying ailments on Thursday to same hospital. Both of them died today.
The 52 year old woman from Zonimar area of Srinagar was admitted to SKIMS hospital on 22 July while as woman from Gazriyal in district Kupwara was admitted on 20 July and was tested positive today after her death.
The 60 year old man from Kerala also died at SKIMS who later tested positive for COVID-19.
A 70-year old dialysis patient from Uri with CRF, ovarian mass and Metastatic mitotic disease was critically ill. Her dialysis was done at a private hospital in Srinagar and after dialysis she was advised to go home and come after one week. She was sampled because of co-morbidity by CMO Srinagar and in late hours result was positive and next day she expired and was buried as per COVID-19 protocol.
A 40 year old man from Chinkral Mohalla, Habba Kadal in Srinagar died at SKIMS Soura today. He was admitted to SKIMS, Soura on July 18 with underlying medical conditions. He tested positive for the virus before he death.
An 86-year-old man from Firdous Abad Batamallo who was admitted on 13 July to SKIMS hospital while a 62-year-old woman from Saimoh area of Tral died who was admitted to SKIMS on 14th of this month died today.
A 63-year-old woman from Shopian who was admitted on 14 July with bilateral pneumonia to SKIMS died this afternoon while a 65-year-old woman from Moomin Abad Batamallo who was admitted on 20 July died this evening.
With these deaths, the death toll related to COVID-19 in J&K has reached 288 including 268 from Kashmir division and 20 from Jammu division.
Kashmir today reported 601 cases of COVID-19 positive patients including 50 CRPF personnel, nine pregnant women and eight police and army personnel each.
Srinagar reported 158, Baramulla 29, Kulgam 106, Shopian 109, Anantnag 33, Kupwara 32, Pulwama 56, Budgam 34, Bandipora 42 and Ganderbal 2 cases.
An official said that 961 samples were processed from travellers who arrived at Srinagar Airport and eight tested positive today. The official said that 482 other samples were processed at the lab and 98 tested positive for COVID-19.
The CRPF cases include one from 110 Battalion of CRPF based at Lethpura in Pulwama district, eleven CRPF men from 130 Battalion CRPF at Awantipora in district Pulwama, one from Awantipora Pulwama, 12 from 130 Battalion CRPF Awantipora Pulwama, one from 130 Battalion CRPF Awantipora Pulwama, one from E/117 CRPF Jawahar Nagar Srinagar, one from 117 CRPF Jawahar Nagar Srinagar and 22 from 43 Battalion CRPF DPL Budgam.
An official at Chest Diseases hospital said that 1461 samples were processed at the virology lab and 180 tested positive.
An official said that 313 samples were processed at SKIMS Medical College lab in Bemina and 27 tested positive today. They are from South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A health department official said that other 288 positive cases were reported from Private labs at Gurgaon in Haryana.
And 84 COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals of the Valley today.
