UDHAMPUR, Feb 19: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 11 bovine animals besides arresting the accused from the area under the jurisdiction of Chenani Police Station.
Based on a reliable information regarding smuggling of bovine animals, a Police party led by SI Sanjeet Sharma, SHO PS Chenani, laid a naka on the National Highway and intercepted a Mahindra Pickup truck bearing registration number JK14A-6265.
During thorough search, 11 bovine animals were found loaded in the said vehicle. All the bovine animals were rescued and the accused driver namely Shoqat Ahmed son of Mohd Iqbal of Anantnag Kashmir, was arrested.
In this regard, a case under Section 88 RPC, 3PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation of the case is going on.
