UDHAMPUR, Sept 19: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 11 numbers of cattle, which were being smuggled to Kashmir in a truck.
The truck (JK03A-7015) was intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Vijay Singh Choudhary, during a naka at Jakhani. Police rescued the animals and arrested the truck driver, identified as Adil Hussain , son of Mohd Maqbool of Anantnag and his associate Ravi Kumar son of Krishan Lal of Drabshala, Kishtwar.
In this connection, case under relevant section of law was registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
