107th Jayanti of Swami Lakshman Joo celebrated with fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, May 6: The 107th Jayanti of Shaivachariya Ishwar Saroop Swami Lakshman Joo Maharaj, the last doyen of Kashmiri Shaivism was celebrated with full religious fervour and gaiety today.
In this connection a grand function was organized at Ishwar Ashram Bhawan -2 Mohinder Nagar here. A large number of people, besides the devotees of Swami Ji attended the celebrations and paid their obeisance to this great Shivachariya of Kashmir.
The function started with the flag hoisting followed by recitation of Guru Stuti, Guru Vandhna and recitation of devotional songs by the students of Vishwa Bharti Institute of Education Jammu. This was followed by serving of Prasad to devotees.
Swami Lakshman Joo, who was an incarnation of Achariya Abhinav Gupt  was instrumental in propagating the rich philosophy of Kashmiri Shaivism not only in India but throughout globe. He was also popularly known as Ishwar Swaroop among his devotees.
The Trust founded by Swami Ji himself is presently engaged to carry forward his message by way of publishing books on his philosophy and explanations there of in the form of CDs and DVDs etc.
During the birth day celebrations of Swami Ji these books are exhibited on stalls for the devotees.
The Jayanti of Ishwar Saroop was simultaneously celebrated with reverence at Ishbar Srinagar where a large number of devotees attended the function, New Delhi, Navi Mumbai and California USA.
The people in West were so influenced by Swami Ji ‘s personality and his philosophy that many scholars became his disciples and studied Kashmiri Shaivism from him to propagate the same in their respective countries.
