UDHAMPUR, Jan 10: Udhampur Police today arrested an inter-State narcotic smuggler and seized 105 kg of poppy straw, which was being smuggled by the accused in a truck.
The arrested accused, identified as Harvinder Singh, son of Gurnaam Singh of Moga, Punjab, was driving the truck PB10BJ-9687, which was intercepted at Jakhani by a Police party, led by Zahid Saif Wani, DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and assisted by SHO Udhampur Inspector Sanjeev Singh Chib and SI Jaswinder Singh, IC PP Roundomail.
In this connection, a case FIR number 14/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is taken up.
